The Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology, Kano hereby invites reputable, qualified and registered Contractors and Suppliers to apply to be considered for contracts to execute projects in the College under the 2017 appropriation act.


  1. The Projects


Lot 1      Purchase of a Bus.

Lot 2      Construction of Classrooms and Offices Building.

Lot 3      Purchase of Laboratory Equipment.

Lot 4      Establishment of Cottage Processing Centre for Fruits and Vegetables for Rural Development.


Application Requirements

  1. A brief history of the company stating nature of work undertaken.
  2. Evidence of incorporation with Corporate Affairs Commission, (CAC).
  3. Evidence of current Pension Commission Clearance Certificate (PENCOM)
  4. Tax Clearance Certificate for the last three years. (2014, 2015, 2016)
  5. Evidence of Industrial Training Fund Clearance Certificate (ITF).
  6. Evidence of Registration with National Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
  7. Registration with Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP)
  8. Current Value Added Tax (VAT) Certificate.
  9. Evidence of similar jobs successfully completed in the last three years, award letters and completion Certificate are relevant within 5 years (at least 3 projects).
  10. Audited Accounts report for three (3) years (2014, 2015, 2016).
  11. List of equipment owned or leased to be used for the project and their location (where applicable).
  1. List of key personnel/officers to be attached to the project and their qualification. Enclose photocopies of professional certificates as well as evidence that none of the company’s directors has been convicted of any criminal offence relating to fraud or financial impropriety or criminal misrepresentation, falsification of facts relating to any matter.
  2. Evidence of financial capability. A Bank’s reference indicating readiness to finance the project if the applicant’s bid is successful.
  3. An affidavit disclosing whether or not any officer of this college’s relevant committee on procurement is a former or present Director, Shareholder or has any pecuniary interest in the applicant Company.
  4. Evidence of submission of annual returns to the Corporate Affairs Commission.


Submission of Application

Application for Tender should be clearly marked, signed and returned separately for each lot, for technical and financial documents respectively submitted in a sealed envelope to the under signed not later than 10.00 am on Monday 2nd October 2017.  Documents will be opened the same day at the College Board Room.

Candidates for National Diploma Programmes should possess the required O’level Credits for their chosen courses in addition to obtaining a minimum of 100 points in the 2017 UTME. This category of applicants must also make (change to) FCAPT as their first choice institution with JAMB.

About the College

The College started in 1975 as a school of Food Storage Technology with the training of staff of product inspection division of states’ ministries of agriculture of the then Northern States in pest control and food chemistry. Later the training was expanded to include all aspects of food storage.

In 1990 the students’ intake was expanded to include staff of agriculture departments of local governments. This greatly increased the number of persons benefitting from the training. Over the years the College has trained over 2000 students from all over the Country. Due to the success achieved by the school in its certificate training programme, in 2003 the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural development approved the upgrading of the school into a diploma awarding institution.

The institution was named Federal College of Produce  Inspection and Stored Products Technology, Kano which was later changed to Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology, Kano.

The College formally took off in 2008 with four programmes namely Food Technology, Agricultural Technology, Pre-ND and Remedial.

The College has since added new programmes most of which have been accredited by NBTE, Academic programme accreditation body of the Federal Government.
